East Sussex Arts Partnership

The Partnership is currently made up of East Sussex County Council, Arts Council England South East, and all the borough and district councils in East Sussex – Lewes, Rother and Wealden District Councils, and Eastbourne and Hastings Borough Councils.

We work together to plan, manage and raise external funding for the following four programmes.

Public Art

* Supported projects in Lewes and Wealden with more planned in other areas.
* Developed guidelines for local authorities, developers and others for commissioning public art.
* Published a leaflet sowing the diversity of recent public art projects in East Sussex.


Community Touring

* Commissioned a new piece of outdoor theatre 'Elise Piddock Skips in Her Sleep' for family audiences.
* Developing an online box office that festivals and small promoters can use to sell tickets for their events.

Spoken and Written Word

* Promoting a two year programme of events across the county bringing local people and professional writers together through performance and workshops.

Young People and Contemporary Culture

* Developed programmes for young people in partnership with the Youth Service and others.
* Promoted the East Sussex Youth Arts Festival.
